Hua Hin Bars & Nightlife - Pubs & Discos
Hua Hin and its neighbours are quieter than Thailand's other beach resort areas, but there is entertainment for those who like a little action after the sun goes down. There are a couple of Thai-style discos in town (Style Club & Star Planet) as well as the Hilton Brewing Company with live music.

Several pubs and a few sports bars are available for those who like to drink and eat while watching their favourite sport on a wide-screen TV or giant screen projector. The bar scene is centred in the the small square of Naresdamri Road (Hilton Road) on Soi Bintabaht, lane located near the Hilton Hua Hin Resort and Ponsook Road - the street coming down from City Beach Hotel.

Please keep in mind that Hua Hin is not Bangkok, Phuket or Pattaya,

Deja Vu Bar & Restaurant
Khao Takiab (5 km from Hua Hin center)
Pool and dart leagues, Giant TV projector, 4 tv with splitscreen. Best cocktails in town. Suitable for families with no bargirls or hassle

Blue Angel Cabaret
Soi Bintaban, Hua Hin
Nightly transvestite show at 8.00 PM and 9.45 PM and a midnight show on week-ends. Probably different than anything you'll find back home.

Crawford's Irish Bar - Restaurant
Poolsuk Road, Hua Hin
Giant TV's, lots of drinks, and highly regarded pub grub. Popular with local expats and suitable for families.

Johnnie Walkers Sports & Music Bar
Selakam Road, Hua Hin
Good pub food and lots of promotions. Popular with expats.

This is only a short list. There are many more places that you can find by simply walking around in the center of the city.

Hua Hin Beach & Activities
Hua Hin beach is quite long, stretching from Hua Hin Airport in the north all the way to Khao Takiab in the south is known for its breathtaking sunrises. Being as long as it is you will always be able to find a quiet spot. You can walk almost the entire stretch apart from the middle section which is sealed off as it is the property of "Klai Klangwol" or "Far from worries" where his Majesty the King now spends most of his time.

In the centre of Hua Hin it is possible to take a pony ride, or just relax in one of the many sunchairs available for a little fee.

Should you get hungry you can grab a piece of fruit from one of the many sellers walking on the beach, or walk to one of the small food vendors located directly on the beach and order a delicious thai dish starting from 20 baht.

South of the city, close to Khao Takiab you can do water sports such as parasailing, water skiing or jet skiing. Hua Hin, and the west coast of the Gulf are further well know for windsurfing for its strong northeasterly winds.

Hua Hin Taxi Transfer – By air
Travelling by road between Hua Hin and Bangkok can be a stressful and tiring business. On a good day it's a two-hour drive but in reality it's often a whole lot longer. It's not surprising therefore that an increasing number of people are now letting the plane take the strain and opting for a thirty minute flight instead.

As well as the obvious timesaving the trip itself can be seen as e mini-adventure. SGA currently operate two 12-seater propjet Cessna aircraft. If you haven't tried these small planes before it makes for a very different experience to getting on your normal soulless commercial jets.

For a start, there is no cabin crew just you and the two pilots who personally take you through the safety procedures before getting on with the business of flying the plane. "The pilots are your entertainment," says Dr. Jain laughing. Whilst this might sound a little scary it's strangely reassuring being able to see the pilot, if he is calm then everything must be all right!

Because of the planes relatively small size they also fly much lower than commercial airlines at about 5-9000 feet. What this means is you are often flying below the level of the clouds. Not only does it make for a slightly smoother ride but also gives you a breathtaking view of the countryside below.

"Our planes have big windows so you get to experience the beautiful scenery of Thailand as you travel," says Dr. Jain.

It certainly beats the alternative of staring at the car in front of you whilst stuck in another traffic jam.
SGA have flights from Bangkok to Hua Hin daily at 10:45, 14:15 and 17:15 and flights from Hua Hin to Bangkok daily at 12:30, 15:30 and 18:30 for prices starting from around 3500 baht.

Hua Hin > Health & Beauty Thai Massage
Thai Massage
Known in Thailand as นวดแผนโบราณ (Nuat phaen boran, IPA, which correctly translates only as ancient massage or traditional massage, this form of massage is also known as Thai ancient massage, traditional Thai massage, Thai yoga massage, yoga massage, Thai classical massage, Thai bodywork, passive yoga or assisted yoga. It is usually soothing because of its emphasis on stretching and loosening the body. Its roots go back far into history, originating in India based on the Ayurveda, and then becoming popular in ancient Siam, now known as Thailand.

Originating in India and drawing from Ayurveda, it has inevitably incorporated modalities like yoga. The receiver is put into many yoga like positions during the course of the massage. In the northeren style there are a lot of stretching movements unlike the southern style where pressure is emphasised. It was believed that the massage art was brought over to Thailand by Shivago Komarpaj (Jivaka Kumarabhacca), a contemporary of Lord Buddha over 2500 years ago.

The massage recipient changes into loose, comfortable clothes and lies on a mat or firm mattress on the floor. (It can be done solo or in a group of a dozen or so patients in the same large room). The massage practitioner leans on the recipient's body using hands and forearms to apply firm rhythmic pressure to almost every part of the recipient's body. The massage generally follows the Sen lines on the body-somewhat analogous to Chinese Meridians and Indian nadis. In some gestures, legs and feet of the giver are used to fixate the body or limbs of the recipient. In other gestures, hands fixate the body, while the feet do the massaging action. Oil is not used in traditional Thai Massage. A full Thai massage session typically lasts two hours or more, and includes rhythmic pressing and stretching of the entire body; this may incluce pulling fingers, toes, ears etc., cracking the knuckles, walking on the recipient's back, arching the recipient's back in a rolling action etc. There is a standard procedure and rhythm to the massage.
